In Bangladesh, a number of universities have collaboration with foreign universities and they have study program as well. This study tries to find out the scenario of study abroad program in real. Six universities, comprising of two top ranked public universities and four private universities, were selected purposively based on local ranking and reputation in job market. A total of 360 students were selected (confidence level: 95%; confidence interval: 5%), 60 from each, and interviewed face to face. University administration officials were also informally interviewed. Results show that although all universities have research collaboration with foreign universities, only two universities exchanged students in last 5 years. A massive communication gap between administration and students are also evident as only 56% students are aware of their institutions’ study abroad programs. Students’ lack of interest is also an impediment in this program. This study found that the demand of study abroad program amongst the students is only 29.17%.
